Mass Stitchings is series of embroidered photos that honors those involved at the shooting site. As America continues to struggle with gun ownership safety, the local communities are left with the responsibility to forge ahead. A lack of discussion, regulation, and support from our nation's government seems to be the phantom thread from shooting to shooting. The first four of the series were each exhibited in the vicinity of the shootings to create community conversations about practical gun safety in America.

The first of the series was a personal experience with community gun violence. My daughter's school was near this location. The kind of phone call every parent in America dreads, I could hardly hear her through the crying of her classmates as she detailed that she was in lockdown due to a local shooting. Though the threat was a few blocks away, the terror was real for her entire school community. On this day, December 10, 2019, a shooting took place at a kosher grocery store in the Greenville section of Jersey City, New Jersey. A hate crime that ultimately left 3 people dead, the aggressors were aiming for a Jewish-owned Daycare business.
